Be the change you want to see

While everyone is wondering and trying to reach a conclusion on the recent Mumbai blasts, when will one stop and see what we have done. Are we to blame for this mess. PREJUDICE- We need to stop it. Why?
Simple. It has to start within us. When we talk about terrorist and religious fanaticism which leads to such horrible acts of cruelty, Have we ever stopped and looked the random acts of the same prejudice that we follow. Sure, the people who call themselves religious warriors are just a hyperbolic version of each and every one of us.
When will we realise each random act of any one of us telling our kids or friends or anyone for that matter not to serve him or get served because of the background- it be race, religion or country. This suppression and/or meddling is what people don't like. This it s what makes one miserable and try to fight it. Does it matter to him how he reaches the end of the fight. NO. These are the acts that get blown out of proportions to wage war against each other.. But aren't we missing the big picture...We are still made of the same blood, we are still born from a womb, we are still loved by our parents and friends..the love we share is still real.
So let's promise ourselves that until the earth or religious institutions start spewing out humans, let's not practice the prejudice and suppression which leads people to do stupid things for simple monetary gains. let's not make the world a non livable space for the future generations. For all we are trying is to take care of our family and provide for them.

Some dreams shouldn't come true...

I was waking up from my sleep as it got too cold..the winter was bad and I needed another layer of clothes on my already stacked upp 3 layers...After all how long can wood burn...Last batch burned for almost 5 hours...and now it was getting colder...Well with no electricity..That's all you can hope for...So I woke up at 5 A.M. giving up hopes on a better day. I had to get ready and go search for food or probably trade my skills..Not that I have many!! Getting ready would take another hour as water had to be heated up...and then go about starting fire..well the old way...rubbing barks...Yesterday was a good day...I got to trade my rice for some beans and veggies...A luxury...Today hoping to find some kind of food probably roots...and some random nest or even lucky a beehive..Well watching so "Cast-Away " kinda movies are helping in a way...It's time to innovate again...Find food...Feed and sleep...That's all you can do with everything going in retrograde...Life has changed once again...A full circle of sorts...Who are to blame ....US!!!OURSELVES!!!
May be we should have thought about burning that fuel...Wasting that food...water...

Righ Hand of Doom

People who have watched Hell Boy would understand what I am talking about..I saw this movie when it got released..I was skeptical after looking at the character as to how this demon like creature would bring about change in the world.

HellBoy(Anung un Rama )is a creature summoned by the Nazis at the end of the world war and later discovered by the US army. Then Professor Trevor Bruttenholm becomes his father/mentor and reads him stories of the demons and the underworld and also creates The Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense to fight the paranormal and the occult. Hellboy grows up to become a big red demon with a huge right hand known as the "Right Hand of Doom".He likes nachos and salsa, Baby Ruths and kitten...
Both the movies are good and refreshing from the usual superhero movies.
He is pretty much like wolverine in the sense that he can heal from wounds easily. His right hand is big enough to punch a hole in the wall and equally capable of catching a fly.
His love interest can also match up to him. The lady I am talking about is Liz sherman. Born in Kansas city, she has the ability to create fire..but doesn't have control over it until later on in life..She gets the control only in Helllboy 2 after taking lessons from monks on how to control it. She is the love interest of Red and at the end we come to know that they are having twins..
Very nice film...worth watching..

Cancel your card when you die!!

I came across this in an email:
A lady died this past January, and Citibank billed her for February and March for their annual service charges on her credit card, and added late fees and interest on the monthly charge. The balance had been $0.00 when she died, but now somewhere around $60.00. A family member placed a call to Citibank.

Here is the exchange:

Family Member: ‘I am calling to tell you she died back in January.’

Citibank: 'The account was never closed and the late fees and charges still apply.'

Family Member: 'Maybe, you should turn it over to collections.'

Citibank: 'Since it is two months past due, it already has been.'

Family Member: So, what will they do when they find out she is dead?'

Citibank: 'Either report her account to frauds division or report her to the credit bureau, maybe both!'

Family Member: 'Do you think God will be mad at her?'

Citibank: 'Excuse me?'

Family Member: 'Did you just get what I was telling you - the part about her being dead?'

Citibank: 'Sir, you'll have to speak to my supervisor.'

Supervisor gets on the phone:

Family Member: 'I'm calling to tell you, she died back in January with a $0 balance.'

Citibank: 'The account was never closed and late fees and charges still apply.'

Family Member: 'You mean you want to collect from her estate?'

Citibank: (Stammer) 'Are you her lawyer?'

Family Member: 'No, I'm her great nephew.' (Lawyer info was given)

Citibank: 'Could you fax us a certificate of death?'

Family Member: 'Sure.' (Fax number was given)

After they get the fax:

Citibank: 'Our system just isn't setup for death. I don't know what more I can do to help.'

Family Member: 'Well, if you figure it out, great! If not, you could just keep billing her. She won't care.'

Citibank: 'Well, the late fees and charges do still apply.' (What is wrong with these people?!?)

Family Member: 'Would you like her new billing address?'

Citibank: 'That might help.'

Family Member: ' Odessa Memorial Cemetery, Highway 129, Plot Number 69.'

Citibank: 'Sir, that's a cemetery!'

Family Member: 'What do you do with dead people on your planet???
(Priceless!!)

Is the grass really Green???

I still remember those days when I was a small kid...when I wanted to be at the next step before it comes...Whether it be getting to school so that I can get out of the house...or waiting to be long enough to take the bike to school..or waiting to get to high school to be cooler and older....or get in to college to have more freedom ..or to turn 18 to be legal enough to drive...to finish your degree to end up havin a job for financial freedom....or get out of the house to be more independent...
BUT I never knew that all I ended up was running in the rat race....In all those years all we think is about how things would be more different with all the independence and financial freedom that we stop to enjoy the wonderful years we had...
And I stand now every evening and stare at the kids outside playing and enjoying...wondering and begging God to put me back in those years so that I can enjoy and cherish it..But I guess life doesn't work that way....Lost in transition...
Hell lot!!!
And day in day out now we are just running to get a better deal out of our life..and just hoping that the grass would be GREENER on the other side!!
But will it really...
Guess we need to stop wondering and enjoy what we are left with!!!
